How do I create my online fundraising campaign?
You can easily create your own fundraising campaign in just a few steps:
- First, write a unique title and description for your fundraising campaign. If you wish, you can upload your own image or use one of our suggested images. This can also be changed at any time later on.
- Then select the reason for the fundraiser (e.g. birthday) and the project you would like to support. The project cannot be changed later. You can find information about our projects in our project overview.
- An account will be created automatically after you have entered your personal details.
- Your fundraising campaign is now ready to be published, but can also be saved as a draft for the time being.
What do I need to consider when setting up my fundraising campaign?
The fundraising campaign finances SOS Children's Villages projects worldwide and therefore does not relate to private donations. You can edit and deactivate your fundraising campaign at any time. Only the project selection cannot be changed retrospectively.
Who receives a donation receipt?
All individuals who have made a donation via meine-spendenaktion.de will automatically receive a donation receipt at the end of the year. Simply creating a fundraising campaign does not result in the receipt of a donation receipt.
Will I receive materials for my fundraising campaign?
Yes, we will provide you with information about SOS Children's Villages that you can download and print out. You will also receive an information sheet with details about your fundraising campaign, which you can download. This information sheet contains a QR code, which is a direct link to your fundraising campaign page. You can use the information sheet to display at offline events.
Once the fundraising campaign is complete, you can download a personalised certificate for your fundraising campaign from the administration area. This contains information about the donations received, which project the donations will go to and who created the fundraising campaign.
What payment options are available?
You have the following payment options: PayPal, credit card (Visa/Mastercard/Amex) and SEPA direct debit.
The entire donation process is handled via an encrypted SSL connection. Our website is certified by Comodo CA Limited. For donations made by credit card, the 3D Secure procedure (MasterCard Secure Code or Verified by VISA) offers additional protection.
This means that your donation via the online form is as secure as online banking. SOS Children's Villages also bears the DZI donation seal and is a member of the Transparent Civil Society Initiative.

Can people donate anonymously and conceal the amount?
Yes. Individuals who wish to make a donation have the choice of donating anonymously or by providing their name. It is also possible to display or hide the amount to be donated.
Will my fundraising campaign be published immediately after creation?
Once you have created your fundraising campaign, you can publish it immediately or save it as a draft for the time being. You can still edit your campaign after it has been published. Only the project selection cannot be edited once the fundraising campaign has been created.
