How we help: about SOS Children's Villages weltweit

A loving home for every child - that is our mission. As a children's rights organisation, SOS Children's Villages stands up for every child worldwide - regardless of nationality, skin colour, religion or ethnicity. In over 130 countries around the world, we support children, young people and families in need and help them on their way to a self-determined future.

Our focus areas: 

• Family: We offer children in need a loving and safe home and prevent families in need from breaking up. In our SOS Children's Villages worldwide, children grow up in the security of an SOS Children's Village family. We also support families in need around the world by helping them to help themselves. Support projects to strengthen families by choosing ‘Where it is most needed’.

• Education: Everyone has a right to education! That's why we run kindergartens, schools and vocational training centres that are also open to children from the neighbourhood. For us, education means more than just school lessons: we also offer career counselling, literacy courses and start-up support for poor families. • Health is the foundation for a happy and successful life. In our clinics at SOS Children's Villages worldwide, we provide medical care for children and families and psychological support for traumatised children. Healthy meals in our Children's Villages are just as much a matter of course as medical care in our facilities. • Emergency aid: Children are particularly vulnerable in crisis and disaster areas. We provide rapid and sustainable humanitarian aid for children and families by distributing urgently needed relief supplies, offering psychological support and organising child protection centres and play activities. Our local SOS Children's Villages enable us to provide effective and rapid aid. Support the emergency aid projects of the SOS Children's Villages with a donation campaign. For example, we are currently providing emergency aid for Ukraine and emergency aid for Gaza.

• Climate protection: SOS Children's Villages is actively committed to environmental and climate protection and accompanies children and families with green pilot projects towards a sustainable and liveable future.
