HELPFUL TIPS & FUNCTIONS
This will make your fundraising campaign a success:
- Share your fundraiser: Promote your fundraising campaign via your social media channels, for example on Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.
- Materials for download: We provide you with materials (flyers etc.) that you can display at a physical event or send out digitally.
- Personalised info sheet with QR code: After creating the campaign, download your personalised information sheet with QR code and display it at your event. This way, your guests can quickly and easily support your fundraising campaign online.
- Stream your event: If you would like to create a charity stream, we will provide you with all the necessary widgets. Simply select the ‘Streaming’ event in the form.
- Donate for your own campaign: To set a good example and get the ball rolling, it's best to start by making a donation first.

How do I create my online fundraising campaign?
You can easily create your own fundraising campaign in just a few steps:
- The first step is to create a customised title and a descriptive text for your fundraising campaign. If you wish, you can upload your own image or use one of our image suggestions. This can also be changed at any time afterwards.
- Then select the reason for the donation (e.g. birthday) and the project you would like to support. The project cannot be changed later. You can find information on our projects in our project overview.
- An account is created automatically after you have entered your personal details.
- Your fundraising campaign is now ready to be published, but can also be saved as a draft for the time being..
What do I need to consider when setting up my fundraising campaign?
The fundraising campaign finances projects of SOS Children's Villages worldwide and therefore does not relate to private donations. You can edit and deactivate your fundraising campaign at any time. Only the project selection cannot be changed afterwards.
How can I start a fundraising campaign without the Internet?
We will be happy to advise you personally! You can reach us on 0800 50 30 600 (toll-free) or send us an e-mail to anlass@sos-kinderdoerfer.de.
How can people who don't want to use the Internet support me?
Of course, your friends and supporters can also take part in your campaign without the Internet. Offline donations can be transferred to the SOS Children's Villages donation account.
Please use the keyword ‘My fundraising campaign’ as well as a keyword or the title of the campaign in the reason for payment and include your address.

Please note that donations made by bank transfer are not automatically added to the results of your online fundraising campaign at www.meine-spendenaktion.de. On request, we will inform you of the total amount donated and the number of donors. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, we are not permitted to provide a list of individual donors by name.

Who will receive a donation receipt?
All persons who have made a donation via meine-spendenaktion.de automatically receive a donation receipt at the end of the year. The creation of a fundraising campaign alone does not lead to the receipt of a donation receipt.
Will I receive materials for my fundraising campaign?
Yes, you will receive information from us about the SOS Children's Villages to download and print out. You will also receive an information sheet from us with personalised information about your fundraising campaign for download. This information sheet contains a QR code thats leads with a direct link to your fundraising campaign page. You can use the info sheet to display it at offline events.
As soon as the fundraising campaign is completed, you can download a personalised certificate of your fundraising campaign in the administration area. This contains information about the donations received, which project the donations are going to and who created the fundraising campaign.
Which payment options are available?
You have the following payment options: Paypal, credit card (Visa/Mastercard/Amex) and SEPA direct debit.
The entire donation process is handled via an encrypted SSL connection. Our website is certified by Comodo CA Limited. The 3D Secure procedure (MasterCard Secure Code or Verified by VISA) offers additional protection for donations made by credit card.
This means that your donation via the online form is as secure as online banking. SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit also bears the DZI seal of approval for donations and is a member of the Transparent Civil Society Initiative.
For which projects can I collect donations?

Can people donate anonymously and hide the amount?
Yes, people who wish to make a donation can choose to donate anonymously or by stating their name. There is also the option of displaying or hiding the amount to be donated.
Will my fundraising campaign be published immediately after it has been created?
You can publish your fundraising campaign directly after creating it or save it as a draft. Your campaign can still be edited after publication. Only the project selection cannot be edited once the fundraiser has been created.
